* | Reverse osmosis water conditioner for freshwater planted aquariums |
* | Fast-dissolving powder replaces minerals for healthy plant growth |
* | Restores and maintains mineral balance and GH (general hardness) |
Establish ideal mineral/electrolyte balance in planted aquariums. Seachem Equilibrium also aids in maintaining a complete buffering system. This fast dissolving powder is ideally suited for safe and effective re-mineralization of reverse osmosis and de-ionized water. A 300-gram bottle will treat 380 gallons.
For soft water - 1/2 teaspoon per 10 gallons of water. Medium hardness - 2 teaspoons per 10 gallons. Hard water - 3 teaspoons per 10 gallons.
To raise mineral content/general hardness (GH) by 1 meq/L (3 dH), add 16 g (1 tablespoon) for every 20 gallons when setting up an aquarium or when making water changes (add to new water). For optimum solubility, mix in a separate container with a 1 quart of water (the resulting mixture will have a white opaque appearance). When this mixture is added to the aquarium, it will impart a slight haze that should clear within 15-30 minutes.
Note: This dosage is based on DI or RO water. For other water, measure hardness (GH) first, and then add Equilibrium according to need. Plant preferences vary, but a general guide is about 1-2 meq/L (3-6 dH) or match the existing or target carbonate hardness (KH), which, ideally, is also about 1-2 meq/L (3-6 dKH). Do not use Equilibrium when replacing evaporated water.
